Large pedestal desk in figured rosewood
An exceptionally large pedestal desk of most unusual form with free standing columns in the manner of Gillows of Lancaster. The concaved front, back and ends are veneered in the finest figured rosewood with contrasting panels of decorative hand cut brass inlay. The whole is raised on a shaped plinth with cross grain veneer and brass stringing. The writing surface is in three sections surrounded by further brass stringing. First quality hand coloured hide having distinctive borders tooled by hand in gold leaf. Internally, provision is made to facilitate file drawers and computer hardware.
